A friend of mine turned me on to this little gem of a camera.  This is a light weight, solution to DSLR shooting.  The LUMIX GH2 and its accessories are so easy to carry around compared to 7D or the 5D.  You can have three lens, 5 batteries and two GH2 cameras, in 1/4 the room you could have the equivalent in Canon gear.   Now, the picture quality is not the same, but it is the light weight solution.

I also think the Sennheiser MKE 400, when used properly is an excellent mic.  When pointed directly at the subject at 0-5 feet in range, the results are above adequate.

This is a simple shooting set up with results that I have not seen matched for its size.

This site - has some great photos that were snapped with the GH2.

Panasonic Lumix GH1 Low Light video test

Hello Friends,

Here are some photos of a b-roll camera I used last week at Patriot CrossFit. I love filming elite athletes.  The camera is a Panasonic Lumix GH1. It was a gift from a friend a few weeks back. It is a great camera!

Panasonic Lumix GH1

With the Kipon EOS-m/4/3 A adapter mount, it can handle a Canon lens.

I let this camera hang from my cotton carrier and pull it off for quick b-roll. The 100mm gets some great shots even in super low light. The video below was filmed in a dark room with a bit of window lighting. I like the look, although the 1600 ISO was less than ideal. The conditions here were rough, and with just a bit more light, this camera can certainly hold its own.

Enjoy the video. I shot at 59.97 and used Cinema Tools (Apple software) and “conformed” to 29.97 for slow mo.
