seagulls aptos (1)

A friend tossed a piece of bread into the air and these guys battled for the treat.  The seagulls are use to being fed on the ground, but they can be convinced to fly for their treats.   We were patient and only fed the seagulls that would fly close to us.  At first 95% of the Seagulls stayed on the ground, waiting to be fed.  Within 10 minutes, 50% of the birds started a circular pattern of flight over my head.  It takes a little bit of practice, and you can actually make gestures that alert a seagull that you are about to throw bread to him/her and they will come in for their treat.

After 20 minutes I had about 100 seagulls flying in a circular lineup vying for an opportunity to catch a piece of bread.

It seemed like everybody around the Eifel Tower spoke a different language and yet most of the people traveled in pairs.  A commonality amongst all of us humans.

It can take years to capture a quality Humming Bird Moth photograph.   Yes, they can be seen, but it requires luck or the knowledge of their habits to get a quality photo.  It is best to find these remarkable insects in the early dawn.  Whenever I see them past 8AM they seem to be en route to “another location”.  I have never seen a faster flying insect and if they are not feeding in a particular location for several minutes, getting a photo is near impossible.  This particular morning in Prescott Arizona, at about 7AM, I grabbed about 100 epic photographs of this Humming Bird Moth!  He was solo and stayed on this bush for 10 minutes!  More photos to come!
