Both of these photos were shot with the Canon 5D Mark III + Canon 14mm.

I shot this photo of the Federal Courthouse in Cleveland, Ohio at 12pm, Wednesday, December 12, 2012.  The building is the work place for approximately 4,000 federal employees.  During the 20 minutes I moved around the building snapping photos, I did not see a single person exit, enter or walk near the building.

After snapping approximately 50 photos, homeland security approached me and asked me, “what are you shooting”.  I told the officer, “a picture is worth a thousand words”, and proceeded to show him all 50 photos.   After showing him all the photos, he asked if I would go back to the photos of the buildings with the leaves in the foreground (the pictures above).  He said, “I like those 2 pictures.

The officer was kind.  He shared a story about a Korean photographer that was detained the previous month for taking pictures of the courthouse.  When they asked to see the Korean photographers ID, he presented a passport belonging to another individual.  I did not get the conclusion of this tory, but I don’t think it’s good to present fake ID to homeland security.
